Where to start .. the last few months have been amazing. I didn’t really had time to write earlier so here comes a long story. I am looking at my pictures and it may sound weird but sometimes it feels unreal. I am actually living my dream and it makes me feel so happy. My new adventure started with a road trip along the West coast of Australia. We found a shared ride on Gumtree and after seeing each other once we decided to just take the risk and travel together. We bought a tent and some camping equipment and there we went. The car we traveled with was from one of the guys and it was a 4 wheel drive so we had so much freedom. We could go anywhere. We found the most amazing spots to camp. One time on the top of a mountain, everywhere on the amazing white sandy beaches and next to beautiful lakes. I am not really a camping person because I freak out about many insects and to be honest I like to have some comfort butttt I am so so happy I did this trip. The first night we had to put the tent up in the dark and there were massive grasshoppers everywhere. They just jumped right in your face, so you can imagine I was freaking a bit out, hoping it wasn’t going to be like this every night. Luckily, it wasn’t. Every day we travelled somewhere else. Sometimes we had to drive for 5 hours to reach the next place and the heat was very extreme. It was around 40 degrees and because we didn’t had a fridge everything was very hot and up in the tropics also very humid. You could shower and straight after you would be sweaty again.
As you can imagine in the dessert are no facilities so we had to take enough water to survive till the next spot. In the beginning it was a lot of dessert with some beautiful waterholes where you could swim in the most refreshing water. Of course we were not the only one enjoying the pools so usually we had some company from lizards, snakes, spiders, fish and other animals. After a while I got used to all the animals and insects and got a bit more relaxed about it, haha. Every day putting up the tent leaded to a broken door so now we had no door in the middle of the bush.. Just when we saw scorpions and huntsman walking in front of the tent, very nice.. Ahum. We got creative and made a door with pigs and a sarong, haha it was very funny. At one point we went to a water hole and on the way back I slipped and really hurt my toe. My nail was already growing in from al the walking with the walking shoes and now it was doomed to get worse. I had to struggle a lot with my toe. I couldn’t really keep it clean and it was very painful but it didn’t weight up to all the adventures.
Next thing that happened was a flat tire. Okay it happens, the roads are very bumpy and the tires where old BUT then our second tire broke down. Oooo my god there we were luckily just out of the dessert still a bit far from the next roadhouse so we decided to try to stop a truck, hopefully one would stop and take us on the truck and we were soooo lucky!! In 30 minutes a cool Aussie truck driver stopped and gave us a lift all the way to Carnarvon, which was 5 hours away. We had some bottles wine left and had a big party in the car, haha it was so funny.
After 3 weeks of dessert we were happy to be back on the coast again and what kind of coast, o my god I have seen the most pretty beaches I have ever seen in my life. Crystal clear water, white sand, amazing snorkeling. A dream come true. Unfortunately we had to hurry up a bit because the time flies by when you are having fun and we had still much to see and not so much time left. We did the West coast in 5 weeks but if you really want to chill and have a good look you actually need more time.
After enjoying all the beautiful beaches we where finaly in Perth. The capital of Western Australia. A very cool city with lots of nature and a great shopping and party life. First we went to a bush party called a doef. It was very funny. In the middle of nowhere all this people partying, a dj, life music. We had a very good night. After this our trip was coming to an end and everybody would go their own way. We still had a few days left in Perth so one of the guys and I went to Rotness island, a beautiful island close to Perth and cycled around the island. We had some good parties and then we had to see goodbye. A bit hard after being together every day for 5 weeks. We are all very different people which made us such a great, funny team with all one passion: traveling!
So this was the end of my West coast trip. I will for sure go back because I already miss it! But lots of new places and new adventures will follow. Now I’m in Baliiii a totally different little paradise and I want to travel around Indonesia for two months, celebrate New Year in Gili Island with a good friend from back home who is coming and then I fly back to Perth and look for a job in my second home country, Australia <3
